A Dream Revival
We were born to dream. We are natural visionaries. Our imagination runs wild and free. We were encouraged to dream and were given toys and activities that helped us grow.
Then little by little, our dreams were replaced with work. The pressure got stronger to make the grade, learn the skills, and get prepared to earn a living.
It took me a long time to take my dreams seriously, and realize that dreams serve a purpose. I suspect I’m not alone.
Maybe we need a dream revival.
Brothers and sisters, be free from the false belief that your dreams must provide your income, pay your medical insurance, fund your vacations, put your kids through college, and fill your retirement account. How many people have put away their dreams because they wouldn't pay the rent? Our dreams are not meant to be a beast of burden to carry the weight of providing our food and shelter. We all have to make a living. But making a living does not mean forsaking our dreams.
There is a way.
One thing is clear, our culture and school prepare us for a job or career. But there is no clear path that prepares us for a dream. The path is made by a burning desire. We must determine for ourselves that our dreams are worth pursuing. Then we must equip ourselves for the journey. A dream is personal and no two dreams are alike. So we must set a direction, take aim, and do the work to make our dreams a reality.
There is no battle.
There is no battle between our dreams and making a living. It’s not one or the other. They are both important. However, never rule out the possibility that your dreams could grow to the point where others become highly interested.
No dream is too small.
No dream is too small. Dream what you want to dream.
A dream is an expression of the potential within us. We were born to dream. A dream is how we grow. And as we grow, our dreams grow. No dream is too small. There is always time to dream. A dream will always find a way. A dream is a better future.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." –Eleanor Roosevelt
