Each day is like a vault filled with treasure. In the morning, the vault door opens. We are free to obtain the riches that wait inside. At midnight, the vault door closes.
What treasure is in the vault?
The value we could create.
The knowledge we could learn.
The service we could give.
At the end of the day, whatever we created, whatever we learned, and however we served, we get to add to our treasure chest. It’s ours to keep forever! But once the vault door closes, the day is gone.
The “knowledge of the vault” is not about greed or getting ahead. Quite the opposite! It’s about creating, learning, and giving in a way that we choose. It’s a source of great joy and satisfaction.
If we are wise, we take advantage of the opportunity to take things out of the vault each day. And day by day, we add to our treasure. Truly, truly, each day is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
In Pablo Picasso's 78-year career, he produced about 147,800 pieces, consisting of: 13,500 paintings, 100,000 prints and engravings, 300 sculptures and ceramics and 34,000 illustrations. That’s about 5 pieces of art per day. Wow!
Whatever your dream may be: writing, photography, building, cooking, teaching, designing, restoring, etc, bring something out of the vault every day. It’s the best investment we can make.
The secret to living a great life, is to live a good day.
To your success!
What is your dream?
My dream is to write small but powerful books on success and plant them like seeds.
