Some people excel at taking the wind out of people's sails. They see the success of others and claim it is due to privilege or luck. They suck the hope out of innocent bystanders with their negative talk. The real tragedy is some people are quietly trying to overcome their own unbelief. They haven’t found a strong foundation for their dreams. They haven’t tapped in to their purpose.
To suggest that people who have achieved something of significance was due to luck or privilege is an insult. Luck has nothing to do with success. Luck doesn't build perseverance. Luck doesn't forge character. Luck doesn't pick you up from the ground when you fail. Luck doesn't fill your mind with knowledge. Luck doesn't give you wisdom. Luck doesn't build your reputation.
If luck is the foundation for success then behold, watch it fall to the ground in an instant. The successful dream builder never relies on luck, but is prepared to take advantage of it.
The best way to shield yourself against negativity is to know your source of power. Choose a worthy purpose in life, and let it be your North Star. Invest in yourself. Equip yourself with knowledge. Enjoy cultivating your natural abilities. Grow in wisdom. Allow trials to be your teacher. Practice daily. Have long-term vision. And enjoy the fellowship of other dream builders.
Never let anyone take the wind out of your sails. And even if the wind dies down, another breeze will come along.
To your success!
